Our Story

A local business & community partnership since 2011

Video recorded in 2015

The idea behind Teenage Tutors was simple.

How can we match local, honour roll, grade 10, 11 and 12 students with local families seeking a convenient resource for homework help?

That was 2011 and our first tutor was my daughter, Veronika. I had concerns about her publicly posting her name and phone number in the neighbourhood, so I created a company! I would visit with the families prior to the first tutoring session to make sure that we were able to provide the support that they required and make sure that my daughter would be in a safe and suitable environment.

We've continued to evolve with new features like online billing and payment, and we've grown as we've found like-minded people who have joined us to bring Teenage Tutors to their communities, but the basics stay the same.

Thanks for your interest in Teenage Tutors and helping us to continue to build local small businesses and community partnerships.

Scholarship

Beverly Jean Fay

My mother, Beverly Jean Fay passed away peacefully on October 16th, 2023. In her honour, Teenage Tutors has created The Beverly Jean Fay Scholarship and our tutors will be eligible for this scholarship.

My mother was very passionate about education! She had so much belief in me! She taught me about love, kindness and community, and the alphabet too!
